BATTLEFIELD HALF MARATHON & 5K

Frederick County Parks & Recreation has always been at the forefront of organizing events that not only challenge our participants but also provide them with a safe and enjoyable experience. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of the Battlefield Half Marathon & 5K, a decision influenced by both increased financial costs and the safety of our participants amidst the county's commercial and residential development along the course.
 

The decision to cancel the Battlefield Half Marathon was not made lightly. Our team worked tirelessly to explore other alternatives that would allow us to proceed with the event. However, after much deliberation, we concluded that redirecting our resources towards enhancing our other Run at the Top races is the best course of action. Our commitment to the safety and well-being of our participants remains our top priority, and this decision reflects that commitment.
 

While the cancellation of the Battlefield Half Marathon is a disappointment, Frederick County Parks & Recreation is excited to turn our focus towards making our other Run at the Top races even more memorable. We are thrilled to invite our participants to join us at the Trails 4 Miles race on October 5th and our 26th Thanksgiving Day 5K on Thursday, November 28. We look forward to welcoming runners of all ages and skill levels to our upcoming races and continuing to serve our community with dedication and enthusiasm.
